After countless searching, I finally discovered the whereabouts of Buttercup and her captors. They were easy to fool with new found skills gained throughout my long journey as a sea captain. After rescuing Buttercup from the strange men, I concealed my true identity from Buttercup. I used the deception of this disguise to find out if Buttercup was truly in love with her fiance the Prince. I was relieved to find out that she was in fact forced into the engagement and had no emotional ties to the Prince.
Just as I was about to reveal my identity she pushed me down the hill with the hurtful message that I could "Die for all she cared". As I was falling down the hill, all I could think to say was, "As you wish!" Buttercup threw herself down the hill once she discovered who I really was. When we met at the bottom of the hill, I wrapped my arms around her so tightly that I forgot about the pain from the fall.
I'm rather relieved. I half-expected her to gunnysack me (Stewart, pg.344-355). Honestly, I didn't quite know what to expect since I'd been gone all those long lonely months.

I think she is starting to "fall" for me.
